Married to Don, a retired teacher and coach. We have 6 living kids and 6 beautiful grandkids who fill our lives with joy! A transplant from Sioux City Iowa to Southern California, my heart and my passion are centered on sharing the hope I have in Christ and intercessory prayer for families, for cities and for the nation. I believe that Jesus is about to return, and I want to share His desire that no man should perish. It is also my hope to be faithful to the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20. The legacy I pray for those I love is to love Christ and seek to serve Him.

End Times (Super) Signs in the Heavens?

The Talmud is a collection of writings that covers the full gamut of Jewish law and tradition, compiled and edited between the third and sixth centuries. Talmud is Hebrew for "learning," appropriate for a text that people devote their lives to studying and mastering. The main text of the Talmud is the Mishnah, a collection of concise teachings written in Hebrew.

In its discussion of eclipses, the Talmud (Sukkot 29a) specifically describes solar eclipses as being a bad omen for the nations. Indeed, the complete solar eclipse that crossed the continental United States in 2017 ushered in the most devastating hurricane season in US history.

The same source in the Talmud specifies that lunar eclipses are a bad omen for Israel since Israel is spiritually represented by the moon. If the lunar eclipse takes place in the eastern hemisphere, then it is a bad omen for all the nations in the east, and similarly, if it occurs in the western hemisphere of the sky, it is a bad sign for all the nations in the west.

A number of prophetic teachers have brought the unique nature of both lunar and solar eclipses to light as pertaining to end time signs. They include, Mark Biltz, El Shaddai Ministries, John Hagee and Steve Cioccolanti, the pastor of Discover Church, Melbourne, Australia.   Cicoccolanti, in talking about the Hebrew roots of end time prophecies, points to recent signs in the sky which were seen prior to the 70th Birthday of Israel.  Why is 70 so important? He explains: “Because Israel was given 70 years in Babylonian captivity and 70 years from the time that Jesus was born to the time when its temple was destroyed.”  He says, “So there is something important that is the fact that Israel is about to turn 70 years old since it was born again in 1948.”

I have added a few more to his list.  Some will never occur again in your life time! It is important to remember that while signs in the heaven are important from a Biblical perspective, these signs do not mean that on the date of occurence any specific thing will happen, but rather that the end of one season comes and a new season may commence. In all things, seek the Lord in prayer for understanding.

1-Comet Ison (Nov 28, 2013) – Nasa said is a comet as bright as the moon and arrived in November 2013.

8 – Total Solar Eclipse (August 21, 2017) - While total solar eclipses are not rare, they occur twice every 3 years on average and can be seen from some part of the Earth, a total eclipse of the Sun that can be seen from the American West Coast to the American East Coast occurs less frequently. Before the eclipse in August 2017, the last time a total solar eclipse was visible from coast to coast happened almost 100 years earlier, on June 8, 1918!

What made this eclipse extra-special is that it was the first time since the total solar eclipse of January 11, 1880 that a total solar eclipse occurred exclusively over the continental United States—no other country saw totality, though many countries saw a partial eclipse of the Sun.

This is why this eclipse was also called the Great American Eclipse. In 2024, another Great American Eclipse will take place.

9 - Virgo Clothed (Sept 23, 2017) - 50th Ann. Of Jerusalem Jubilee

10. – Super Blood Blue Moon (Jan 31, 2018) Seen over Israel after Trump announced move of US Embassy to Jerusalem, it coincides with the Jewish New Year for the Trees. For the first time since 1866, the earth experienced a “super blue blood moon eclipse,” a term that describes the combination of several amazing astronomical phenomena.

In 2018, for the first time in 150 years, the blood moon coincided with an even rarer occurrence called a “blue moon,” which takes place every two and a half years.

This eclipse was unique in that while the term “blood moon” refers to a total lunar eclipse, during which the moon appears reddish-orange in color. The intriguing color is the result of the moon passing through the earth’s shadow and reflecting the sun’s “red” rays, earning the moniker “blood moon.” Within the last few years, there have been four blood moons. Amazingly, each one fell on a major Jewish holiday – Passover and Sukkot. This close interval frequency is a very rare event. In fact, before the 20th century, there had been a lengthy period when there were no such eclipses.

11. – Micro Blood Moon (July 27-28, 2017)
On the day of the eclipse, the Full Moon was also at its farthest from the Earth, so it looked a little smaller in the sky, making it a Blood Micro Moon eclipse. Mars was very close to the eclipsed Moon was easy to see with naked eyes.
The full moon represented the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century (2001 to 2100). A partial eclipse precedes and follows the total phase of the eclipse, each time lasting 1 hour and 6 minutes. So, from start to finish – on July 27-28, 2018 – the moon spends nearly 4 crossing the Earth’s dark umbral shadow.

This eclipse happened on the same night that Earth passed between the sun and Mars, placing Mars at opposition in our sky. On July 27, the sun, Earth and moon aligned – placing the moon opposite the sun in the sky – producing an eclipse as Earth’s shadow falls on the moon’s face.

Rabbi Lazer Brody, an American-born Hasidic rabbi and teacher, has a particularly clear and definitive understanding of the upcoming lunar eclipse in the context of the Talmud in his blog, Lazer Beams. He said, “It is important to note that the lunar eclipse on Friday night will appear in the eastern sky. “People may try to interpret this as having significance for world politics, but the lunar eclipse is an omen for Israel,” Rabbi Brody explained to Breaking Israel News. “If anything, this may be a warning specifically for Israel and potential war from the east. In today’s context, that might be Iran.” He further noted that the lunar eclipse falls on the 16th day of the Hebrew month of Av. The preceding day – the 15th of Av – is referred to as Tu B’Av, which Rabbi Brody explains is “the best day of the year for the Jewish People.”

12. Super Wolf Blood Moon (January 20, 2019)
So then … we know what the supermoon and the blood moon are, but what about the wolf moon? Each full moon in the calendar year has a name associated with it, based on the time of the year it happens. According to Farmer's Almanac, January’s full moon is known as the “Wolf Moon” for the wolves that would howl during midwinter. Other names for this full moon include the Old Moon and the Moon After Yule.

So, what’s to draw from all this?  Are these signs from God. This writer says, yes.  But they are but one category of signs.  Go back to what Jesus says in Matthew 24:32-35…” Now let the fig tree teach you its lesson: when its branches begin to sprout and leaves appear, you know that summer is approaching.  In the same way, when you see all these things, you are to know that the time is near, right at the door. Yes! I tell you that this people will certainly not pass away before all these things happen. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The key here is “when all these things”. We are living in a time when the signs the Bible speaks of are all converging.  So much false teaching and deception on the internet is causing confusion within the Body of Christ. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Keep your mind focused on His Word.  Keep your communication lines open with the Great I am! Pray for wisdom and for discernment. We gather knowledge, but wisdom is the ability to put the knowledge we gather together to enhance and build the Kingdom of God. Wisdom is a gift from God! Ask Him for it. He delights in giving good gifts to His children!
